YouTube- Bud and Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach Book Launch Promotional Video
As I am sitting here watching, Sing Date, I have created a free and easy promotional video from Animoto. I am definitely going to use this tool to make more video’s to promote Bud & Roo’s Spectacuar Adventures.
I wonder what we will come up with next time?
Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures
11 more days until the Bud & Roo book launch. The count down begins.
So, today we begin our official countdown!
This week we are meeting with the manager of Waterstones to make final arrangements with the setting up. And, Suzy is preparing our fliers to hand out. I will start handing out a few this Saturday at the market and to local families I see passing at the City Centre. I am sure I will be very annoying, but it’s all about selling yourself. And, if you are going to market yourself these are the things you’ve got to do.
Wish us luck!
We join celebrities such as Annabel Karmel on the Parents’ Show this Thursday on Radio Verulam, 8.30pm.
This Thursday evening at 8.30pm we will be on Verulam Radio- The Parents’ ShowTo celebrate and begin the Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures book launch Suzy and myself will be on the radio! Kathy and Lydia kindly invited Suzy to the radio show to talk about our book briefly. We are very thankful for getting a slot as they have many celebrites on the show such as Annabel Karmel.
We have two weeks until our book launch and Suzy and I are very excited. We are ordering more books this evening which makes you feel happy in the sense that you’ve got to order more books, but yet nervous again about the fact of shifting all of the stock. It is manageable. Suzy is a top saleswoman! And, our marketing plan for the summer is to do a major coastal book tour which we are very excited about.
Hopefully, Suzy will tell you all about it when you tune in to the Parents’ Show this Thursday the 28th at 8.30pm.
Thanks again!
3 Ways Bud and Roo will help your child learn how to read almost instantly
There are several reasons why Bud & Roo
makes a great book to get your little one reading. The illustrations are colourful and bright. Children can related to the characters of Bud & Roo as one is a boy and one is a girl. The illustration of the ladybird intrigues little ones to explore and while they’re exploring they have the feel of a book in their hand.
Even though the illustrations couple up with the literary content there are three ways Bud and Roo will help your child learn how to read almost instantly.
Around the age of 4 or 5 children are learning sight words at their nursery or at school. Perhaps they are even learning words and letters at home. There is a very large home-schooled community here in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.
With the basic foundation of a few sight words based on the British school curriculum a child can learn how to read almost instantly after picking up Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach.
3 Ways Bud & Roo help kids learn to read
1. It builds confidence. With the short sentences a five-year old can finish the book from front to back and feel a great sense of accomplishment from reading the whole book on her or his own.
2. Alliteration helps. When reading the repetition of the same consonant it helps the child strengthen various muscles in hes or her mouth which aides in the whole ‘learning to read’ process. Also, which many writers do is use rhythmic patterns which encourages memory and sound to work together.
3. Kids like Bud & Roo. Children love the classic story of Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach. Let’s face it- it’s not a boring book. When your child starts school and the phonic books start coming out a parent thinks to his or her self ‘Who is Nid and who is Bog’? A child often needs to cognitively map an image to the words to make it understandable. In other words, it’s never too early to teach comprehension. When you strengthen early comprehension skills as well as critical thinking skills (‘Where did the blue bucket come from’? or ‘The blue bucket belongs with the spade’.) a child will be able to pick up reading sooner.
My girls are very excited every time they see the Bud & Roo book. It’s the simple phrases that can be read with confidence that makes a child smile. And, when a child feels good about something such as reading a book from start to finish they continue to do so. It is teaching them independent reading at an early age. Make it fun and they’ll do it forever.
Thanks for reading!
Thank you @zucchinibikini for your Down Under Review!
Thank you so much for reviewing Bud and Roo! All the way from Australia, Down Under! Check out @zucchinibikini blog and her reading challenge.
I appreciate this review a lot because not only does it explain that it is a ‘classic’ which means a timeless children’s adventure seires, but also constructive criticism. With out constructive criticism how can artists get any better? I really appreciate all feedback both great and small whether it’s good or bad. It is nice to also get an opinion from someone from outside of the UK.
Bud & Roo are going global! I wonder what Bud has hidden in his hat? I think Bud & Roo have a lot more adventures ahead and there are many readers out there that can’t wait!
Suzy and I are delighted that so many little readers are loving Bud & Roo!
Thank you so much!
Doggy Duds dresses Bud for his book signing
Thank you so much, Doggy Duds, for custom making Buddy the Beagle’s Sherlock Holmes cap. Bud likes to explore and is always up for an adventure! He has found a blue bucket in Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach. I wonder what he will find next in the next book, The Circus?
Take a look at what Bud will be wearing! Rosie Roo will be wearing her red ribbon! She will look very pretty and Bud will look very smart!
After all, he is one of the best doggy detectives who has ever sniffed!
Thank you, Chrissie from Mediocre Mum for our book review!
Thank you so much for reviewing our children’s book! I must say, yes! I am up for that challenge! I would love to create a more fun way that kids learn how to read at school. Have you ever read the Biff books? Or Mum has a headache? Biff has long hair. Is that normal? Does anyone else see those little typos that I do? Is Beiff a cross dresser????
I love Mediocre Mum’s style- she says it like it is! Her blog is the best in St. Albans so make sure you check it out! She rocks!
