Hi!  I am Jessica Clauss Valentine.  I am an American city gal living in the English countryside.  In the states I used to teach Special Needs Language Arts which means;  I used to teach kids how to read and how to write.  I enjoyed my job immensely.  I have been writing stuff since I was a kid.  I am a published poet and author as well as continue to write for blogs/magazines such as Hertfordshire Life, Yuppie Magazine, SheKnowsUK and Doggy Day Out.  I currently practice as a Counselling Psychologist in Hertfordshire.  I have an ebook called ‘Get a Grip’ how to transform your life and take back control in 30 days or less.  You can find that on Amazon!

This blog was put together to show readers how easy it is to self-publish.  Our self- publishing company is called Bugle Boy Publishing, Ltd.  Suzy Jones Biggar, the artist, and myself co-own the publishing company.  We are here to help anyone who is interested in publishing their own work whether it be in print or digitally.

Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures-The Beach

Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach is our first children’s adventure series edition.  It is about Bud the Beagle and Roo the Border Collie.  They like to dig up treasure and together they figure out where the treasure has come from.  Our children’s adventure series is for young readers age 7 and under.  Our children’s books have been inspired by our pups and by our own children.   I wanted to create a book that kids initiate reading on their own.  The book encourages children to use their imagination, continue to develop their critical thinking skills and with the use of alliteration strengthens reading.

Our next book, The Circus will be out this year to buy.  We will introduce a few more characters in the book- this next book is going to be smashing!

Suzy and I have self-published all of our own work and it has been very exciting doing everything on our own.  We have learned a lot about the self-publishing industry and we are willing to share our knowledge.
