BBC Radio’s Children’s Hour author Carol Odell creates ‘The Noisy Noise’

“The Noisy Noise” by Carol Odell
With technology continuing to develop non-stop and our children evolving ever so quickly with that technology no explanation is needed when my 5 year old, Sophie, quickly figures out how to use this ibook, “Noisy Noise” by Carol Odell.  The thing she likes the most is selecting an object and hearing the corresponding sound.  With the use of audio learning, tactile learning and visual learning this book is the perfect tool for my little girl who is learning how to read.

It was easy to download from our itunes and my daughter enjoyed touching the screen.  “Do it again!”  she said after hearing the noises.

The only thing I wish is that this book was just a bit longer.  However, it was the perfect introduction of ‘sight’ words that my daughter is learning at her school.

“Noisy Noise” is written by the British writer Carol Odell who began writing for the BBC Radio’s Children’s Hour when she was only a teenager herself.  After moving to Australia Carol has written more than 25 children’s books, plus television scripts for Playschool and Skippy, and for six years she was writer/presenter for the Books and Writing segment of a weekly television arts program for teenagers.

Those with an iPad can use the search box in the iBookstore to search for “noisy noise” and purchase it for only £3.49.

Thank you @zucchinibikini for your Down Under Review!

headercompos3 Thank you so much for reviewing Bud and Roo!  All the way from Australia, Down Under!  Check out @zucchinibikini blog and her reading challenge.

I appreciate this review a lot because not only does it explain that it is a ‘classic’ which means a timeless children’s adventure seires, but also constructive criticism.  With out constructive criticism how can artists get any better?  I really appreciate all feedback both great and small whether it’s good or bad.  It is nice to also get an opinion from someone from outside of the UK.

Bud & Roo are going global! I wonder what Bud has hidden in his hat?  I think Bud & Roo have a lot more adventures ahead and there are many readers out there that can’t wait!

Suzy and I are delighted that so many little readers are loving Bud & Roo!

Thank you so much!

Thank you, Chrissie from Mediocre Mum for our book review!

Thank you so much for reviewing our children’s book! I must say, yes! I am up for that challenge! I would love to create a more fun way that kids learn how to read at school.  Have you ever read the Biff books? Or Mum has a headache?  Biff has long hair.  Is that normal? Does anyone else see those little typos that I do?  Is Beiff a cross dresser????

I love Mediocre Mum’s style- she says it like it is! Her blog is the best in St. Albans so make sure you check it out! She rocks!

Thank you very much Now that I am a Yummy Mummy for reviewing Bud & Roo’s Spectacular Adventures- The Beach! Great pictures on your blog as well! http://diaryofasoontobeyummymummy.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/review-bud-and-roos-spectacular.html

Yummy Mummy says:

“T loved the drawings, and loved the two doggy detectives Bud and Roo. I liked that it was written with simple enough words that I could sit and show him the letters he knew and how they made up the words. Will be a lovely book for him to read once he can start to read.”

We really appreciate all of this wonderful feedback that we are receiving from the wonderful world of mummy bloggers!

Be on the look out for The Circus out to buy this year!
